Membership

The Canterbury Youth Workers Collective has a membership consisting of people from a diverse range of youth services – predominately from the not-for-profit sector. The Collective supports (and it's membership  includes) paid, part-time and volunteer Youth Workers. We currently have over 160 members, including 34 agency members.

To become a member of the Collective a Youth Worker is required to attend training on the Code of Ethics and apply in writing for a membership interview, using a membership application form.  If they are approved for membership a contract is then signed between the Youth Worker and the Collective which outlines their agreement to abide by the Code of Ethics.

The process for Youth Work agencies to become members of the Collective is similar, however it is preferable that representatives of both the Management and Governance structures of a given agency should take part in both the training and interview stages of the membership process.

An individual Youth Worker membership costs a thirty-five  dollars per year, and an agency membership costs eighty dollars a year, the agency membership also covers the cost of five of the agency's Youth Workers individual memberships, with additional Youth Worker memberships costing an agency ten dollars per Youth Worker per year.
