Kris Heslin

Kia ora I'm Kris Heslin

My first insight to youth work happened in 1999 with Chris Martin running the "Peer Support" programme with us at Hillmorton High School. After a couple of years thinking my career was in cheffing and used car sales, I studied Youth Work in 2003, 21 years on working at YCD, Looked After Children - South East London, Oranga Tamariki - Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo, Te Whatu Ora - Community Dental Services and now Noaia Charitable Trust.

Throughout those years Rerenga Awa/Canterbury Youth Workers Collective has been a valuable tool for networking, connecting and professional development. It's a privilege to be a part of the board and give back to the youth worker whanau.
