CORE COMPETENCIES #7 - UPHOLDS AND EXTENDS MANAAKITANGA

In this session Jane Zintl will explore the Core Competency 'Upholds and extends manaakitanga - caring for young people, ensuring their holistic safety'. This is connected to the Mana Taiohi principle of Manaakitanga. The Competency descriptor is as follows:

a. Intentionally cares for the holistic safety and collective wellbeing of young people.
b. Understands and complies with the Code of Ethics for Youth work in Aotearoa, as well as relevant legislative requirements
c. Understands of formative experiences, trauma and healing centred practices
d. Encourages young people to be generous towards others in the community.
