🌏 Why This Matters
Youth workers often step into leadership without formal development. Investing early builds confident, capable leaders who strengthen teams, support rangatahi with stability and purpose, and contribute to a thriving, resilient youth sector across Waitaha.
‘Mahi Tūturu’ the Landscape of Youth Work in Aotearoa report 2025 identified that there were leadership pathways missing for those moving into team leadership. showed a real need for leader development, this is one wayto begin to fill that gap.
Ngā Rangatira o Apōpō hopes to develop leaders who stay, grow, and create lasting impact for rangatahi and whānau.

Senior youth workers, team leaders, and up and coming team leaders/ leaders from across the youth development sector.
