Join us for our Annual General Meeting! Shape the future of Rerenga Awa | Canterbury Youth Workers Collective by attending our AGM where we will propose constitution changes, nominate board members, and discuss our direction.
All are welcome, but only members can vote and participate in decision-making. Save the date!
A new Incorporated Societies Act has been passed, which means Rerenga Awa needs to update our constitution to meet the new legal requirements before we re-register. The proposed changes will help us stay compliant and reflect our evolving co-governance model.
We’re also proposing a name change—from Canterbury Youth Workers Collective Incorporated to Rerenga Awa Manatōpū. “Manatōpū” is the formal term we’ll use instead of “Incorporated.”
Our current constitution dates back to 1998 (with a small update in 2008), so this is a timely refresh to align with the new Act and better represent who we are today.
If you’d like to share feedback on the proposed constitution before the AGM, please get in touch with Tim tim@cywc.org.nz by 15th Aug. Early feedback gives us time to seek legal clarification if needed.

We need up to 10 Rerenga Awa members to be part of our Committee to oversee our operation and set the strategic direction of the organisation.
If you are an active member of Rerenga Awa, you’re not afraid to speak your mind and your passionate about supporting Youth Development in Canterbury, we would love to have you on board!
We need Committee members who:

Can commit to attending a monthly Board meeting (approximately 2 hours)

Be part of our membership committee (optional, but encouraged)

Are committed to supporting Youth Workers to provide a professional service to young people
