The Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa (COE) defines fundamental values and standards for youth workers in Aotearoa. Based off the principles of Mana Taiohi, COE does not have a 'Treaty Clause' but instead comprises 24 clauses committed to biculturalism and use practical examples critical to effective, ethical youth work practice.

Positive Youth Development Aotearoa (PYDA)

Positive youth development is an approach that focuses on nurturing young people's strengths and abilities, promoting their healthy development, and fostering their positive engagement with their communities. It emphasises building upon young people's assets rather than solely addressing their deficits.

Response Ability Pathways (RAP)

RAP is an application of the Circle of Mana, a model of youth development that places the mana of a young person at its centre. We recognise that meeting a young person’s needs to belong, to become competent, to exercise autonomy and act generously form a foundation that parenting, education, health and youth support are built on.
