Professional supervision is a partnership that supports the supervisee to constructively reflect on their professional practice and explore issues within their professional role in a safe and confidential space. This supports professional growth and enhances both personal and professional outcomes within an ethical framework. Supervision also helps professionals maintain and adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements. Regular supervision helps to manage stress and is widely credited with reducing the risk of burn-out. Supervision is a collaborative process.
